Headlining Kia’s four stars at the SEMA show in Las Vegas was this open-top Optima.
Called the A1A the brilliant turquoise Kia is named after the highway with the same name which runs through sunny Florida’s east coast to Key West.
With its open top letting in the goodness of America’s ‘Sunshine State’ combined with its hip looks, the Kia Optima A1A would be equally at home in laid-back Key West or on Miami’s South Beach (but maybe not in more conservative Naples or Jupiter, Florida where America’s moneyed gentry vacation).
The Optima A1A runs backward-opening rear doors, 20-inch alloy wheels and butter-soft cream and titanium leather upholstery inside.
Other Kia stars are the PacWest Adventure Sorento – a tough off-roader paying homage to America’s rugged Pacific North West – the interesting Cerato Koup-based Mud Bogger and the Photo Safari Sedona (Sportage) which gets its rustic colour scheme from the USA’s Northeast.
