Ahead of its scheduled debut at the Los Angeles motorshow next week, Jeep has pulled the wraps off of two new special-edition variants of its hot-selling cute-ute, the Jeep Renegade. Dubbed the ‘Deserthawk’ and ‘Altitude,’ these special editions are aesthetically-improved models building on top of existing Trailhawk and Latitude variants respectively.
The Altitude promises to be the ‘meaner’ of the two, going for a blacked-out design that’s supposed to make it look… mean. It also features some metallic accents to help differentiate it from the Latitude on which it’s based.
The Renegade Deserthawk’s revisions are a little more comprehensive, to bring it in line with its desert theme. It carries a ‘Mojave sand’ paint job that is exclusive to the variant, and it bears unique body panel graphics, rock rails, and trailering equipment. All of this rides on black wheels, too. It also brings with it the Trailhawk’s excellent off-road kit, like a low-range gearbox and 8.7-inches of ground clearance, setting it apart from other compact SUVs in the segment.
The Renegade Altitude and Deserthawk will be making their official debut at the LA Motorshow next week.
