They’re awfully dark.
At a special ‘Black Event’ in the UK, revered British marque Jaguar has pulled the wraps off of several ‘Black Edition’ models that not only turn down the brightness, but also the prices on some of its cars. The XE, XF, and XJ saloons get the Black Edition treatment, as does the F-Pace sports car and F-Pace SUV.
The cars will be available in the UK until some time into 2018, but neither a fixed timeframe nor international availability was mentioned. Oddly, the Black Edition cars will be available in several colours: Santorini Black is a given, but it’s joined by Corris Grey, Firenze Red, Yulong White, and Caesium Blue.

The Black Edition Jags are built on existing models, namely the R-Sport versions of the XE, XF, XF Sportbrake, F-Pace and F-Type. Using the XE as an example, Black Edition cars get gloss black alloys, the ‘Black Pack’ (that darkens all of the brightwork you usually get), the Parking Pack, Privacy Glass, the Cold Climate Pack, as well as metallic paint. These come at a significant saving to buyers, saving 50%.
The same can be said of the F-Pace S Black Edition, which adds a panoramic sunroof, privacy glass, 22-inch black alloys and metallic paint, matching the dark Black Pack, for 50% less here than it would normally.
There’s no mention if Black Edition cars will be offered in Australia in the near future, though with such significant savings on accessories, it’d be well worth having.
