Jag’s first SUV, Britain’s first World’s Best Car Of The Year.
Jaguar is incredibly proud of its new F-Pace. Despite it being the Coventry marque’s first crack at an SUV, it’s won critical acclaim around the world. Since it hit the market in April 2016, the F-Pace has racked up more than 40 awards worldwide, including ‘Car of the Year’ from AutoExpress and Telegraph Cars’ ‘Best Premium SUV.’
Now though, they’ve hit a new high: The fastest-selling Jaguar in history has now been crowned the ‘World Car Design of the Year’ award, as well as the ‘World Best Car of the Year’ title. The World Car Awards are judged by no less than 75 highly-influential motoring journalists from 24 countries, and have been the mark of prestige and excellence throughout its 13-year history.
Jaguar-Land Rover CEO Dr. Ralf Speth said, “The F-Pace was designed and engineered as a performance SUV with exceptional dynamics, everyday usability, and bold design. Winning this award endorses the talent and great work of our teams that have delivered the world’s most practical sports car and Jaguar’s fastest-selling vehicle.”
On the design win, legendary automotive designer (and Director of Design at Jaguar) Ian Callum had this to say: “The F-Pace is our first-ever SUV, but it is clearly recognisable as a Jaguar. And for it to win the 2017 World Car of the year trophy vindicates our decision to bring our unique design principles and dynamic qualities to a new sector of the market.”
Of course, it’s still relatively early days for the F-Pace. This month marks the first full year that it’s been on sale, and we will likely see continued success for Jaguar’s high-riding “sports car” throughout the globe.
