Isuzu Ute Australia has today announced a recall of its 2015 MU-X SUV due to issues with a loose fuel tank.
According to the recall notice, a fault in the manufacturing process may have resulted in fuel tank band bolts being tightened incorrectly. As a result, the bolts could come loose during operation of the vehicle, which may ultimately cause the fuel tank to detach itself from the car. If the tank simply becomes loose however, it could still cause a fuel spill, which would increase the driving hazard of other road users.
A VIN list of the affected MU-X’s can be viewed here. Owners will be contacted by Isuzu Ute Australia via the mail, but we advise that owners visit their local Isuzu Ute dealership at the soonest possible convenience.
