Seems the new halo will debut at Geneva next year.

Reports are beginning to emerge that French hypercar marque Bugatti are preparing to release a new version of their Chiron hypercar, one that’ll push the capabilities of the model beyond what is already considered to be one of the fastest and most luxurious cars in the world. The result of that capability-pushing will be called the Chiron Super Sport, and there’s quite a bit of buzz around it even though there’s very little to go on at this point.

Sources speaking to The Supercar Blog say that some selected VIPs in attendance at the unveiling of the Bugatti Divo in the US were shown sketches of what was described as a ‘more extreme version’ of the Chiron, which is what we thought the Divo was/is. Anyway, the guests who peeked at those sketches say that it was described as a “beauty of speed,” while others called it a “ground-to-ground missile,” which certainly sounds exciting.

As a variation of the Chiron, expect to find the same 8.0-litre W16 engine fitted, though a myriad of refinements will likely be done to the mill to push its power output past 1,500hp (or 1118kW). Also expect to find very few of them: The Divo was offered in a very-limited 40-unit run, and all of them were sold out upon showing at Chateau St. Jean.

It’s being said that some of the allocations for the ‘Chiron Super Sport’ have already been sold, so if you’re well-heeled enough to buy one to potter around Toorak in, you’d best call your local Bugatti dealer soon. Because if you wait for the suggested Geneva 2019 debut, they’ll probably be all gone.
