Korean giant Hyundai captured attention at the Busan International Motor Show, debuting a high-performance mid-engined ‘super’ Veloster and a new large sedan.
The Veloster ‘Midship’ or ‘RM’ (Rear Mid) was developed by the same team who developed Hyundai’s i20 World Rally Championship machine.
The two-seater uses Hyundai’s turbocharged 2.0-litre Theta GDI engine with 220kW on-tap.
The engine is housed behind the seats within the wheelbase and the Hyundai ‘Midship’ features lightweight aluminium suspension and a high-rigidity chassis.
It’s a study car only and isn’t for production…shame about that.
The luxury newcomer is at this stage only for the Korean domestic market where it will be launched later this year. No decision on export sales at this time.
