Hyundai has given its top-selling i20 hatchback a mid-life update with styling enhancements and extra kit.
Styling changes are substantial with Hyundai i20 scoring a new front grille, bonnet and quarter panels as well as a new rear bumper and external mirrors with indicator lights.
Inside are new seat trim materials, a new central fascia with piano black inserts and a new trip computer.
Two new colours join the range which again is comprised of entry-level ‘Active’ and range-topping ‘Elite’ (the latter adding 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, leather-wrapped steering wheel and uprated audio).
No changes under the bonnet with the i20 powered by Hyundai’s 1.4-litre ‘Gamma’ petrol engine delivering 74kW of power at 5500rpm and peak torque of 136Nm at 4200rpm. However as part of the updates the manual transmission switches from a five-speed to Hyundai’s new six-speeder.
Price rises are minimal and the full range is:
Manual Automatic
3-door Active $15,590 $17,590
5-door Active $16,590 $18,590
5-door Elite $17,590 $19,590
