Germany’s high circulation motoring magazine AutoBild has controversially named Hyundai as the winner of its 2010 quality report.
That places the Korean company ahead of local brands like Volkswagen, Audi and even Toyota.
The AutoBild survey is no lightweight as it included feedback from 9,278 owners, data from 7.5 million vehicle inspections conducted by Germany’s Technische Uberwachung Verein (TUV) report, recall information and manufacturer warranty provisioning.
Evaluation encompassed seven key criteria all of which carry equal weight in the final evaluation process.
AutoBild carries no favours and the fallout of this result is sure to cause headaches for the big-name locals in the German media and market.
