Hyundai is wheeling out an extended wheelbase version of its slick Santa Fe SUV at next week’s Geneva Motor Show.
Designed to compete in Europe’s growing ‘E-segment’ the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe affords seating for six or seven people and claimed class-leading cargo space.
Compared to the regular model the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe is 225mm longer, 100mm longer in wheelbase, 10mm taller and 5mm wider. Cargo space is massive at 607-litres.
Power comes from Hyundai’s 145kW, 2.2-litre ‘R’ family turbo-diesel driving through a six-speed automatic transmission.
On the styling front, as well as the obvious larger re-styled rear three-quarters the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe runs a unique re-styled grille, new front bumper and fog lights and runs either 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels.
And inside, the luxury/technology gets ramped-up with extras including a massive full-length panoramic sunroof with no centre cross-beam and 4.3-inch TFT Supervision Cluster screen.
Underneath the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe has been tuned for the tastes of European customers with suspension calibration just a tad firmer than regular models.
The extended wheelbase Santa Fe is not currently on the radar for Australian sales.
