The Korean hot-hatch alternative is almost upon us.

Hyundai Teases i30N Again, July 13th Reveal

The Hyundai i30N feels like a car we’ve been waiting forever for, with the Korean company doing a very good job slow-dripping teasers and information at a rate that just about keeps our excitement bubbling. The reveal of Hyundai’s first real performance car is coming up real soon though, July 13th to be exact, so there’s just enough time for one last teaser to whet our appetites.

Albert Biermann, Hyundai’s performance division boss, said that the i30N “is an important step towards strengthening our brand value by enriching it with emotions and performance.” The i30N was developed with three primary focuses under the ‘Fun to Drive’ umbrella, with those being “cornering, race track capability, and everyday sports car.” With over 10,000kms of durability testing completed and an ADAC 24-hour endurance race at the Nürburgring completed, there’s little doubt about the i30N’s toughness.

“This car is made to deliver exhilarating driving pleasure for everyone. It is designed for motorists to experience a mischievous grin when driving a performance car, and feel the feeling.” - Albert Biermann

The latest teaser also details that the i30N will be offered with “a great variety of customisation options.” This will allow the i30N to be tailored better and more exactingly to its driver, and balances performance, usability, and reliability in what appears to be perfect harmony. Guess we’ll have to wait and see if it delivers on those promises.
