Hyundai has released their first image to tease the arrival of their all-new Santa Fe. The fourth-generation of the South Korean marque’s SUV is due to have its official premiere at the upcoming 2018 Geneva Motor Show this March.
The outgoing Santa Fe has been a strong seller in a number of major markets it’s sold in, having been helping Hyundai fortify their position one of the main mass market players since its production start in 2013.
Following its appearance in the Swiss capital, Hyundai intends to waste no time bringing it to market, indicating that they are ramping up the production line for its imminent volume assembly. With that, its Australian debut is on the cards for midway through 2018.
There’s not much that we know about the all-new Santa Fe for now, but can extrapolate that many of the current powertrain and trim configurations will remain largely intact. In terms of design, the 7-seat SUV should adopt a sportier profile as the teaser alludes to.
Slimmer headlights will flank Hyundai’s hexagonal cascade grille and a slightly more aggressive front fascia, with more character lines to better define the flow of the shape itself and add a touch more dimension to a family chariot.
Hyundai also wishes to stress that the all-new Santa Fe will feature a number of advanced active safety features including some that are industry-firsts. It’s not much of a lead, but it’s good to know that automakers like this are helping to democratise the more high end features - ones that improve safety, especially - found in premium cars.
