Australian luxury buyers should check-out Hyundai’s HCD-14 concept car revealed at the Detroit Auto Show – the stealth-looking concept is said to be a pointer to future Genesis sedan and coupe models.
Genesis is to Hyundai what Lexus is to Toyota and Infiniti is to Nissan. Genesis is coming to Australia and last week golf fans saw a preview of the Genesis range during Fox Sport’s coverage of the weather-interrupted Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.
In developing the Genesis, Hyundai followed the lead of Mercedes-Benz and BMW by driving the full-size luxo sedan’s rear wheels. The HCD-14 concept continues that trend.
The HCD-14 shown in Detroit indicates a new and more powerful styling direction for Hyundai and Genesis. The ‘fluidic design’ language seemingly replaced with some good old fashioned brawn.
We anticipate Hyundai Australia will reveal its plans for Genesis by the middle of this year.
