This is the first look at the all-new sedan from Genesis, Hyundai’s premium sub-brand, which goes on-sale in Korea later this year and in other markets from early 2014.
While Hyundai Australia has confirmed the Genesis coupe for local sale (timing to be finalized), this good-looker has yet to get the green light (although it will be made in right-hand-drive so that’s a positive).
Hyundai has pulled-out all stops in developing the all-new Genesis sedan which is the culmination of four years worth of development and some $500 million of investment.
The Genesis debuts the next generation of Hyundai’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ design philosophy – simply called ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’. So the stylish sedan gets the hallmark Hyundai singular hexagonal grille but an altogether simpler approach which is still fluidic and ‘in-motion’.
It’s a similar approach inside with a premium look and feel accented by quality materials and tactile elements.
A lot or work has gone into chassis development with the goal of ‘best-in-class’. Over its predecessor, the all-new Genesis sedan is much stiffer and runs electronically controlled suspension and motor-driven electric power steering.
The all-new Genesis will debut Hyundai’s ‘HTRAC’ all-wheel-drive system.
