Don’t get too excited Hyundai fans, the Mistra mid-size sedan concept unveiled over weekend at the Shanghai Motor Show is just for domestic Chinese sales as the Korean giant seeks to broaden its model range in the world’s largest new car market.
Although shown as a concept car, Hyundai has confirmed the Mistra will be on-sale by year’s end.
Styling was a collaboration between Hyundai’s head office in Korea and the company’s Beijing Technical Centre. So the Mistral has been styled and equipped for China – right down to the show car’s jade green body colour and the large two-tone rear bumper.
Measuring 4710mm in length and 1820mm in width the Hyundai Mistral sits between the existing Sonata and Elantra models.
