If you look at the burgeoning Hyundai model range in Australia, a luxury coupe appears to be the only thing missing – but that may be about to change with the arrival of the HND-9 concept which will bow at next weeks Seoul Motor Show.
That’s especially significant for Australia as the next generation Genesis (Hyundai’s premium sub-brand) is headed our way and will draw on technical and styling elements of the HND-9.
There’s no doubt the HND-9 is a looker – the long wheelbase, curved rear and butterfly doors are all the work of Hyundai’s stylists in Korea.
Under the bonnet is a 270kW turbocharged direct-injection 3.3-litre petrol engine driving the rear wheels via a Hyundai-developed eight-speed automatic transmission.
