Hyundai IONIQ Due In 2016

Hyundai will launch the 2016 Hyundai IONIQ next month in Korea.  The 2016 Hyundai IONIQ will be a world first by offering customers three powertrain options in a single body type.

Customers will have the choice from three powertrains electric, plug-in petrol/electric hybrid, or petrol/electric hybrid.

The 2016 Hyundai IONIQ will based on a all-new platform that has been developed exclusively to handle the three different powertrains.

HYUNDAI

Depending on the type of driving a Hyundai IONIQ customer might do they can select which powertrain best suits their needs.

If a customer only does a city commute then the fully-electric (EV) IONIQ will suit them best as it will be powered by a high capacity, ultra-efficient lithium ion battery.

For those driver who do both the city commute and longer freeway driving the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version combines a fuel-efficient engine with battery power motor that boost its range while cutting its emissions.

Following its debut in Korea in January, the Hyundai IONIQ I will also be shown at the 2016 Geneva and New York motor shows.
