Hyundai has boosted the i30 lineup with launch of a new three-door ‘Special Edition’ hatchback variant.
The newcomer is priced at $19,990 (six-speed manual) and $22,190 (six-speed auto). Both are ‘driveaway’ prices.
A creation of Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre in Russelsheim, Germany, the i30 three-door ‘Special Edition’ builds on the looks of the five-door version but looks noticeably more aggressive. That would be thanks to the longer doors (naturally!), more pronounced upsweep for the beltline and steeper angles for the side glass.
Up-front are dark chrome accents for the grille, projector beam headlights, fog lights and LED DRLs while the rear sees a new bumper with a sporty black insert, horizontal sculptured fog lights and a roof spoiler.
Interior features mirror the Hyundai i30 five-door.
If you’re thinking the Hyundai i30 ‘Special Edition’ three-door hatchback is sounding tad more sophisticated that its stablemates, you’d be right.
No changes under the bonnet however with power coming from the direct-injection 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 98kW/163Nm.
