This is the first official pic of Hyundai’s new i20 which will bow in a couple of days at the Geneva Motor Show.
Hyundai’s European stylists have given the latest i20 a more sophisticated look noticeable in the form of a new sculptured bonnet, new bumpers and new-design wheels.
Sizes (wheelbase, height and width) are unchanged from the current Hyundai i20, but the newcomer is 55mm longer overall (thanks to the new bumpers).
Biggest news is the under the bonnet with Hyundai set to debut a new 1.1-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine delivering 55kW of power but emitting just 84g/km of exhaust C02. The new clean diesel engine was developed in Germany at the Hyundai’s European R&D headquarters in Russelsheim.
Also in the lineup is an upgraded 66kW version of Hyundai’s 1.4-litre diesel which sneaks under the magical 100g/km exhaust C02 barrier, rated at 96g/km.
Expect the latest Hyundai i20 in Australian showrooms mid-year.
