Reinforcing Hyundai’s advances in the styling department, the quirky HCD-14 Genesis sedan – complete with its Rolls-Royce-like rearwards-opening doors has been named the 2013 ‘Concept Car Of The Year’.
The panel of jurors considered 23 concept vehicles introduced this year at the various motor shows in Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago and Toronto and New York before naming the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis as the ‘Concept Car Of The Year’ and ‘Most Significant Concept Of The Year’.
Jurors awarded the latter title because they felt of all 23 vehicles, the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis was most likely to shape the future of automotive design.
Genesis is Hyundai’s premium sub-brand (like Lexus-Toyota and Infiniti-Nissan).
“Hyundai’s HCD-14 introduces future premium vehicle design, advanced 3D gesture-based technology controls and spirited driving dynamics. It’s rear hinged back doors and fastback coupe design added to the wow factor,” explained juror Bob Kroupa.
