Big news for compact car buyers from Paris was the global debut of the all-new Hyundai i20.
Designed and developed for Europe (and to be built in Europe for European markets), the all-new Hyundai i20 is highlighted by a new 1.0-litre turbocharged three-litre petrol engine (the ‘Kappa’ 1.0 T-GDI) developed by Hyundai Europe in Russelsheim, Germany.
Good for 88kW/172Nm, the all-new powerplant is the first of a new generation of small turbocharged petrol engines from Hyundai.
Looks certainly step-up from the current i20 with Hyundai’s German styling team delivering a sophisticated package appropriate for European (and global) markets.
Inside is a more upmarket look and feel and we’re told to expect class-leading space.
