Officially, Hyundai’s elegantly-styled i40 sedan is still under consideration for Australia (the wagon version is launched here soon) however the Korean giant has confirmed a 5 January launch date for UK sedan buyers.
Once again a brilliant looker, crafted by Hyundai’s stylists in Russelsheim, Germany, the i40 sedan continues the ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ design theme and rides on ice 16-inch alloy wheels.
Hyundai will launch the i40 sedan in Britain with a choice of 1.6-litre petrol and 1.7-litre turbo-diesel engines and three model grades – ‘Active’, ‘Style’ and ‘Premium’. Hyundai’s fuel-saving ‘Blue Drive’ technology which includes automatic start/stop is available.
Available technologies are impressive – including Lane Departure warning and Smart Parking Assist. The Hyundai i40 sedan comes standard with seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability program and Hill Start Assist.
“The i40 Saloon represents the next-step in the launch of the i40 range to the UK market. It is a vehicle that has been designed and engineered specifically for Europe, ensuring its relevance to the market place,” revealed Hyundai Motor UK chief Tony Whitehorn
