Honda will boost its Australian hybrid lineup with the launch of the acclaimed Insight model.

The good-looking Insight is slated for local launch late this year and will sell alongside Honda’s Civic Hybrid. 

Honda Australia confirmed the Insight’s local launch timing on the same day Honda Japan announced a plug-in Hybrid model for the Japanese and North American markets in 2012.

While current hybrid vehicles charge their own batteries, plug-in hybrids go one step further and Honda says its new model can travel for up to 60 kms using just its electric motor.
