Holden has endorsed the Victorian Government’s ‘Jobs For the Future Economy’ plan. In particular, Holden is pleased to see $2.850 million of the $175 million plan being earmarked for an initiative called ‘Investing in Alternative Fuels’.
The Victorian Government is providing $2.5 million for biofuels infrastructure and a further $350,000 to establish biofuel tanks and improve access to biofuels in regional areas.
“This plan certainly complements our commitment to developing vehicles capable of running on renewable fuels that are better for the environment,” revealed Richard Marshall, Holden’s Director of Energy and Environment.
The ‘Jobs For The Future Economy’ plan follows an earlier announcement in which the Victorian Government partnered with a group of leading companies – including Holden – to investigate the viability of establishing Australia’s first plant capable of turning waste materials into ethanol.
Later this year Holden will introduce Australia’s first locally produced flex-fuel vehicles capable of running on high-ethanol fuel.
