If the VelociRaptor 6x6 just quite wasn’t your cup of tea, Hennessey Performance, the very same American tuners responsible for the Ford F-150-based monstrosity (in a good way) are offering a GM alternative. What you see here is the first Goliath 6x6 the company has produced after announcing the Silverado-based 3-axle behemoth back in latter 2018.
Clearly, it’s taken them a while to hone the techniques of their extensive modifications, but by the looks of it the vehicle has turned out rather well. As they’ve stated before, only 24 examples of the Goliath will ever be produced.
“We are very excited to offer our new GOLIATH 6X6 alongside our VELOCIRAPTOR 6X6 truck,” said company founder & CEO, John Hennessey. “These are very exclusive and unique vehicles that make a huge statement anywhere our clients go – whether its Rodeo drive or the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert.”
Under the bonnet is a 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine. However, from stock tune, Hennessey has included a power upgrade that takes output to around 335kW thanks to a cold air intake system and stainless steel exhausts.
Just as equal parts absurd, intimidating, and just plain cool as the Velociraptor, the Goliath’s 6x6 conversion includes all the accoutrements that come with the extra pair of rollers, including the entirely custom truck bed, all-new rear-suspension and rear axles, and bespoke wheels.
Additionally, the Goliath now sits upon an 8-inch lift kit and 37-inch off-road BF Goodrich tyres (even though we have all-terrain Toyos seen fitted here). Detailing the finer details of how the company managed to make such a major change to the Silverado’s basic structure, added a far more complex driveline, and managed to integrate it all to the point of feeling like an OEM product will take many many more words. Even Hennessey themselves aren’t quite ready to speak at length upon those matters.
What they will say, though, is that each Goliath 6x6 conversion will cost US$375,000 - and that’s over the cost of a new Chevrolet Silverado donor truck. Take note, though, that Hennessey is willing to export the Goliath to international markets.
