Just looking at the photo almost causes you to hum a few bars of ‘Rule Britannia’ as McLaren debuts its GREAT liveried 12C supercar accompanied by British F1 driver Jenson Button.
The GREAT campaign is intended to promote Britain’s world-leading technology sector and drive long-term economic benefits. Graphics on the Union Jack-emblazoned McLaren 12C promote ‘Innovation Is GREAT’.
Of course the McLaren 12c, incorporating technologies amassed during McLaren’s 50 years in F1 racing features a one-piece carbon-fibre MonoCell tub and British-made twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 engine. Manufacturing is at McLaren’s base in Woking, Surrey which is not for from London.
Tomorrow night (Australian time) the GREAT McLaren 12C will lead a parade of rare vehicles through the streets of London from Buckingham Palace to Marlborough House Gardens in the St James Palace Concours d’Elegance. You can follow the parade on McLaren’s Twitter page @McLarenGroup
