Just in time for the European summer – but sure to arrive ‘Downunder’ for next summer – the soft-top version of Volkswagen’s latest Golf debuted at the Geneva Motor Show.
The soft-top Golf comes loaded with the usual safety features like an automatically deploying roll bar and Volkswagen says the four-seater enjoys high levels of noise isolation (often a bugbear in soft-tops).
Importantly, even with the soft-top stowed, the new Golf Cabriolet provides 250-litres of useable boot space.
In Europe, Volkswagen will offer the Golf Cabriolet with a choice of six direct-injection turbocharged engines – three petrol and three diesels, one of which comes with auto start/stop and battery regeneration. The twin clutch DSG automatic will be offered as an option with four engines.
