Nissan Australia boss Dan Thompson has the local return of the Infiniti luxury brand on his ‘To Do’ list and so news of a possible Infiniti compact car has relevance ‘downunder’.
Infiniti will debut the concept – called Etherea – at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
Measuring 4.4-metres in length, the Infiniti Etherea concept certainly looks the part and seems to be nearly ready for production.
Designed under the direction of long-time Nissan/Infiniti styling boss Shiro Nakamura, the Etherea nicely blends coupe and hatchback looks with an elegantly sculptured rear view highlighted by a large, curved glass hatch.
Like the previously displayed Essence concept, the Etherea features a crescent-shaped C-pillar.
“Etherea is about a new type of luxury for younger buyers,” explained Infiniti boss Toru Saito. “It is not just a smaller version of a typically conservative and traditional luxury car.”
