Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the high-performance version of Maserati’s beautiful GranCabrio model – the Grandcabrio Sport – will ariive in Australia later this year.
Maserati says the Sport model is a harder-edged version which will sell alongside the GranTurismo S and Quattroporte Sport GT S.
Under the bonnet is an uprated version of Maserati’s naturally aspirated 4.7-litre V8 engine which is good for 331kW/510Nm. Drive is via the Quattroporte Sport GT S’ six-speed automatic transmission and Maserati says the GranCabrio Sport will accelerate from zero to 100km/h in just 5.2 seconds.
Handling is sharpened too thanks to a sportier tune for the Skyhook active suspension system.
Externally, the Maserati GranCabrio Sport is distinguished by a sporty black grille, black-look headlights and body-colour front corner splitters and side skirts (the latter a new design). The newcomer gains new Astro-design 20-inch alloy wheels and debuts a new paint colour – Rosso Tronfale (that would be red!)
Inside, Maserati’s hallmark sumptuous treatment is highlighted by two new leather colours.
