Genesis Opens First-Ever Showroom In South Korea

Genesis will be opening its first ever dedicated showroom in the South Korean town of Hanam, which lies approximately 30km east of capital city Seoul. The doors will officially swing open starting September 9th.

Called ‘Genesis Studio’, the fledgeling brand hopes that its new dedicated space will draw the heavy foot traffic, exposing more people to Hyundai’s now-independent luxury arm.

Inside the expansive but minimal showroom floor, Genesis will display their flagship model, the G90 limousine, as well as the recently updated G80. Soon, though, it will also accommodate the newest addition to their model range, the G80 Sport, ahead of its official launch slated for the tail end of 2016.

“We are very excited to open the Genesis brand’s first dedicated brand space, Genesis Studio. Visitors can easily drop by the Studio, and get a chance to know about Genesis. This space, located in a busy area, will serve to introduce our brand, and to raise visitors’ curiosity around it. We have also developed diverse concepts of brand spaces that fit for different objectives, so you will see more exciting brand spaces to come in the near future,” said Manfred Fitzgerald, Head of the Genesis brand.

The inaugural Genesis Studio is pegged as a one-stop location for a “stress-free customer experience” and even features some pre-planned routes to allow would-be owners to test drive the cars even at high speed. However, there was no mention of a service centre, technically stopping short of its all-in-one location claim.

Genesis is also scheduled to launch the all-new G70 early next year, a more compact premium saloon that’s got a dash more sportiness than the G80 and G90. Many believe it to be the production version of the New York Concept that the brand unveiled earlier this year. It too will be occupying space at the new Genesis Studio in Hanam.

Of course, the luxury brand does plan to expand the list of showrooms to yet more locations within their native South Korea and indeed in various regions across the world. They haven’t disclosed where they’d be setting up shop next, though, but an Australian ground presence will likely only manifest once they’ve tread ground on luxury car market strongholds such as China, Western Europe, and North America.
