Jeep’s range-topping SRT8 version of its Grand Cherokee SUV is slated for European launch early next year and will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Performance is boosted thanks to 353kW/630Nm from the 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine. Zero to 100km/h takes just 4.8-seconds yet Jeep says the newcomer is 13 per cent better in fuel economy than the previous model.
Drive is via a new Selec-Trac system with active damping which offers five driver-select modes. Ride height is three centimetres lower than standard Jeep Grand Cherokee models, the SRT8 rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and is stopped by Brembo brakes.
European models are available in just one highly-specified model grade which runs Nappa leather seats, carbon fibre trim inserts, paddle-shift gear selectors, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.
