French manufacturer Citroen will reveal the all-new DS5 at the Frankfurt Motor Show – the newcomer will complete the DS lineup which now comprises three models.
Included in the Citroen DS5 range will be a 150kW HYbrid4 – Citroen’s first full diesel-electric hybrid. A 2.0-litre HDi engine drives the front wheels while a 27kW permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor is fitted to the rear axle – the electric motor can power the Citroen DS5 HYbrid4 exclusively (zero emissions) up to 60km/h.
DS5 looks highlight Citroen’s new styling direction first seen with the DS3 and DS4. All-new Citroen DS5 is modern and elegant, both outside and inside, and technology is boosted with Citroen’s latest lane departure warning system, intelligent traction control, active high beam for the lights, reversing camera and colour head-up display.
Also on display in Frankfurt will be a new premium variant of the Citroen DS3 called ‘Ultra Prestige Edition’. Inside, the ‘watchstrap’ leather seats feature a new ‘crescendo’ effect borrowed from the fashion industry which sees the colour gradually vary from white at the top to black on the bottom.
Citroen DS Ultra Prestige also runs ‘Alpin Weiss’ leather on the dashboard in white and the instrument cluster features matching white detailing.
