We’ve always said the Australian designed Ford Ranger is a beaut looking ute but these pictures out of America show a red-hot Ranger ready for some gruelling action.
It’s the first of the Team Ford Racing entries which will tackle the famed Dakar Rally next January.
A joint operation between Ford South Africa and the German-based South Racing, the red-hot Rangers - based on the 4x4 Double cab model - will be driven by South African Chris Visser and South American Lucio Alvarez.
The 2014 Dakar Rally kicks-off in Rosario, Argentina on 5 January and covers a rugged 8,500kms before finishing in Valparaiso, Chile 13 days later.
