Ford Australia’s been listening to customer feedback about their popular Ranger pickup, and so will now be offering some new options and features to the range to better meet the preferences and address some criticisms of owners.
While these changes aren’t as substantial as, say, a mid-cycle facelift, but they are an important example of a manufacturer’s attentiveness to their base of fans and buyers. Starting with the XLT Double Cab (4x4 and 4x2), it will now have a new interior leather option of black accented upholstery and door trim inserts which will cost an extra $1,650 if selected.
Across the range, the 2017 Ranger will now have a temperature display (Outside Temperature Thermometer) upgrade for all models except the XL Plus as well as seat design enhancements for the top-spec Wildtrak to improve comfort while being more resistant to staining and soiling. Additionally, there are new cupholders and a removal of outer tie downs on the XLS models.
Graeme Whickman, President and CEO of Ford Australia, said: “Our engineers and designers have listened to what customers really want, taking their feedback and building it into an already superb range,”
“The Ranger is a class-leading vehicle, one that has already won back-to-back Drive Best Ute awards in 2015 and 2016 (XLT variant), but customers can truly see that Ford is listening and aiming to produce the best vehicles possible.”
