Ford got into the action too at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed, whipping the covers from the updated 2015 Focus ST.

Ford’s small car performance champ gets a new look and some technical changes which sound juicy.

Most noticeable is the fresh look a.k.a the updated Focus look with sharper lights front and rear, a new front grille and a revised bonnet.

Inside too the RS gets the latest Focus design and – here’s the good news – a unique flat-bottom sports steering wheel.

No changes under the bonnet for the 184kW/340Nm EcoBoost turbocharged 2.0-litre and six-speed manual transmission. We doubt the ST’s new 136kW/380Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel garnering attention in England will be heading this way.

What has changed is the suspension and steering with new front springs and a re-tune for dampers front and rear. Ford’s electric power steering too has been fettled for better response (must be good because we thought the current Focus RS was ‘wow!’ in both those areas.

New 19-inch tyres come courtesy of Michelin and new engine mounts aid with better power delivery.
