Ford has shown respect to its Aussie heritage in naming the last Falcon which debuts later this year the ‘FG X’.
The ‘X’ is significant in Falcon history dating back to the very first model in 1960 which was the ‘XK’.
Along the journey other historic Falcons have been the XR, XW, XY, XA, XB, XD and XF.
Feedback from Australian Ford fans drew the ‘Blue Oval’ company to the decision to brand the last-ever Falcon the FG X.
As we know, the final Ford Falcon boasts Ford’s latest international styling cues and will be the only Australian-built large car with a choice of three engines – four, six and eight cylinders as well as turbocharged and EcoLPi LPG versions.
The final Ford Territory also debuts a fresh new look and will be known as the ‘SZ II’.
Ford has confirmed the updated Territory will continue to be offered in TX, TS and Titanium model grades and power will come from the 4.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine and the 2.7-litre Duratorq V6 turbo-diesel.
Arrival of the historic last-ever Ford Falcon and Territory late this year ushers-in a massive 2015 for Ford with all-new models cueing-up – Mondeo, Mustang coupe and convertible, Everest SUV plus updates for the Focus and Focus ST.
