British Ford Fiesta buyers can now select the fuel-frugal 1.6-litre ECOnetic turbo-diesel in mid-spec Zetec and range-topping Titanium models.
That means the UK Ford Fiesta range now boasts three ‘ultra-green’ models.
Ford’s 1.6-litre ECOnetic TDCi powerplant is a wonder, delivering 69kW of power while returning combined cycle fuel consumption of just 3.0l/100kms and exhaust C02 emissions as low as 95g/km.
As well as the engine, ECOnetic Ford Fiesta’s fuel-saving is enhanced by aerodynamic improvements, lowered suspension, low rolling-resistance tyres and even low-friction oil.
Inside, a gear shift indicator light alerts drivers of the most fuel-efficient time to swap cogs.
