Ford AU Details 2019 Ranger Specs & Pricing

After announcing that a new engine will join the legacy pair of 4- and 5-cylinder Duratorq turbodiesels on the 2019 model year revision for the popular Ranger pick-up, Ford has released more detailed about this updated range which is due to be on sale this September.

Apart from the wider powertrain selection, which also adds a new 10-speed transmission, Ford Australia have also increased prices across the range - as high as $1,000 to as low as $300. Consequently, the 2019 Rangers, even in its most inexpensive configuration, can boast of more standard equipment and tech features.

Beginning with base XL, which starts at $27,990, the Ranger gains revised suspension geometry for a more refined ride, higher quality cabin materials, and a hydraulically-assisted tailgate. Meanwhile, the step-up XLS gains front parking sensors instead and gains the option to have the SYNC3 infotainment system installed.

The volume-selling XLT, though, is the big winner of the 2019 update, emerging with some subtle tweaks to its fascia in addition to gaining keyless entry and push-button start, a better appointed cabin, HID headlights, LED daytime running lights, standard SYNC3, and of course, access to the new EcoBlue 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel with 157kW and 500Nm, increasing tow capacity to 3,500kg.

Buyers of the XLT can also, for a $1,700 fee, opt to have the full safety feature catalogue installed. Standard on the Wildtrak and performance-oriented Raptor, it adds Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning, and Active Park Assist.

The Ranger Wildtrak, as well as enjoying all the feature perks of the XLT and its optional extras, sports a sportier exterior thanks to 18-inch alloys that can be given a unique black finish for an extra $500. It also features a restyled front grille and bumper, LED fog lamps, a powered locking tailgate, Traffic Sign Recognition, a newly restyled cabin with Ebony leather treatment and heated front seats.
