‘Tricolore’ is the term used to describe the red-white-green colours of the Italian national flag and Fiat has taken this theme to heart with the new limited edition ‘Tricolore’ model 500 and Freemont.
Available on the Fiat 500 Lounge hatchback ($20,300) and the Freemont Urban ($28,330 in petrol or $32,600 in diesel), the ‘Tricolore’ limited edition delivers extra goodies worth more than $1,500.
On the outside there are red-white-green body stripe decals and chrome exterior mirrors while inside are matching floor mats also featuring the colours of the Italian flag.
As well, Fiat ‘Triclore’ special editions come with an Italian flag design key (for the 500) or a special boxed ‘Tricolore’ key-ring (for the Freemont).
The Fiat 500 Lounge is the range-topping petrol version of the chic Italian compact hatchback and includes standard features such as a fixed glass roof, 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, chrome bumper accents, climate control air-conditioning and fuel-saving auto start-stop.
The Fiat Freemont is available with either five or seven seats and is powered by either a 125kW/220Nm 2.4-litre petrol engine or a 125kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel.
As well as its massive 1,461-litre cargo capacity, the Fiat Freemont provides a large-screen (8.4-inch) Uconnet infotainment system, six-way electronic adjustment for the drivers’ seat and dual-zone climate control air-conditioning.
