When it comes to Ferrari, pretty much any interpretation of your ‘own’ ultimate supercar can be realised as long as you’ve got enough cash to throw around – that’s assuming the Maranello outfit likes you enough and that your ‘interpretation’ falls within good taste.
The latest in a long history of special one-of-one editions is this: the undeniably stunning 458 MM. Crafted at the behest of one lucky and really rather wealthy British client by the craftsmen at the Ferrari Styling Centre, this 458MM uses the 458 Speciale as the base car. Upon that, the bespoke carbon fibre and aluminium panels are fitted.
Actually, bespoke might be too strong a word because from some angles the 458MM seems to have taken some bits straight from the 458’s successor, the 488 GTB – namely, the tail lights. One of the more distinct differences would be the wrap-around windscreen that forms a glasshouse-like ‘visor’ cabin.
The aero kit has also been changed up from the 458’s. There’s a redesigned side cooling sill, front apron, rear bumper, rear diffuser, and special dark forged alloy wheels. The exterior is finished in a paint finish called Bianco Italia. And you must have noticed that stripe and its slight resemblance to the new Ford GT’s silhouette.
The car’s interior has been given a thorough going-over according to the new owner’s specifications and now has an upgraded audio system and bespoke trim pieces. The seats are Cioccolato leather.
Ferrari has not disclosed any performance numbers for the car as yet but it’s quite likely that it uses the same 440kW and 540Nm high-revving 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 found in the 458 Speciale and it doesn’t look that there’s much reason why the 458 MM would be any less potent.
