Fiat-Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne has outlined the future of the group’s brands in a conference at the headquarters in Michigan.
Specifically he quashed talk from Europe that Ferrari was going to the market.
European speculation that the historic Italian brand - with its production run annually sold-out in advance - would fetch up to €5.4 billion can now be binned.
Marchionne said it’s business as usual for Ferrari with a new model slated for each year and plans for an ongoing lineup of eight and 12-cylinder cars.
Currently there are no plans to raise the production ceiling of 7,000 Ferraris per year, but Marchionne said beyond 2018 with continuing strength in ‘emerging’ markets (that means China), annoual production could grow to 10,000 cars per year without diluting the brand’s values.
