Evoque Success Sees First 24-Hour Production

Sales success for the Evoque compact SUV has prompted Jaguar Land Rover’s first round-the-clock production schedule at its Halewood, UK assembly plant.

For the first time in its 50-year history, the iconic pant will be working three eight-hour shifts per day in order to keep up with demand for the company’s ground-breaking Evoque lineup (and also the Freelander 2).

Jaguar Land Rover announced the plant o switch to 24-hour production back in March and began the process of hiring and training 1000 new staff. Getting up-to-speed for the new arrivals included some trial nightshift work last month.

By any measure the renewed success for Jaguar land Rover has been led by new products which are just breathtaking in their design, quality and driving dynamics. So with demand growing, the British icon has trebled its staff in the last four years – now employing 4500 workers at the Halewood facility – the highest employment level for 20 years.
