While Fiat Chrysler’s recent television advertising campaign has focused on the Fiat Freemont seven-seat crossover, don’t forget this is just an ‘Italian-ized’, re-badged version of the original – the Dodge Journey.
And even though they’re getting a little long in the tooth, both the Journey and the Freemont are favourites of www.carshowroom.com.au
Now it seems Fiat Chrysler Australia has not forgotten the Dodge brand after all with news of the limited edition Journey ‘Blacktop’.
Priced at $38,500, the Dodge Journey ‘Blacktop’ is remarkable buying.
The regular Journey R/T model comes with impressive standard kit including leather seats (fronts heated), satellite navigation, second row 9.0-inch video screen with wireless headphones, premium six-speaker 369-watt audio system, reversing camera and 19-inch alloy wheels.
The ‘Blacktop’ limited edition adds gloss black alloy wheels, gloss black front grille, gloss-black exterior mirrors and front fascia and black headlight housings.
No changes under the bonnet and why would you? In a world of turbocharged four-cylinder and diesel engines, Chrysler’s 206kW/342Nm Pentastar V6 remains a powerful friend.
Don't expect to read to many reviews on the Dodge Journey Black edition as things in the PR department have gone pretty quiet.
