DS, Citroen’s premium sub-brand has captured plenty of admiration since its launch in June 2014 and that looks set to continue with this DS ‘E-tense’ concept car which unveils this week at the Geneva Motor Show.
It’s an electric GT Coupe with a carbon monocoque chassis and 387kW/516Nm powerplant with a range between recharges of 310-360kms.
With a top speed of 250km/h and capable of zero to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds, the E-tense is –as you’d expect from a company which competes in the Formula E world championship racing series – a genuine high-performance electric GT Coupe.
In creating the sporty two-seaters, DS has partnered with several other leading French Luxury brands.
The nine-speaker audio system is from Focal, there is a BRM Chronographes watch which clips into the dashboard and from Moynat comes a leather storage bag which can be attached to the driver’s seat and then removed for use as a carry-all.
Styling is said to be ‘sculptural shapes’, ‘perpetual motion’ and ‘fluidity of line’ and the standout front-end is punctuated by the new generation ‘DS Active LED Vision’ lights.
Something is definitely cooking with the DS brand and we like what we’re seeing.
