Great news from Citroen – the unconventional and very cool C4 Cactus compact SUV will join the local lineup from early next year.
A feature of the Cactus’ hip style is ‘Airbump’ technology – air capsules under a flexible skin which can absorb bumps and is resistant to scratches.
“With the Cactus, there’s no need to get ‘prickly’ about those annoying carpark bumps which damage normal cars,” explained Citroen Ausutralia’s Tyson Bowen.
And Citroen being Citroen, the Cactus debuts some interesting new technology in the form of its so-called ‘Magic Wash’ system where the windscreen wipers have washer jets at their tips so washing the windscreen uses less water and doesn’t impair forward visibility.
Inside the life-saving airbag technology includes a roof-mounted airbag – its fitment there frees-up interior space which is used for extra storage.
The Citroen C4 Cactus has already collected a swag of awards in Europe including the 2014 ‘Most Beautiful Interior Design’ gong at the 30th Annual International Automobile Festival.
“We are very excited about the launch of the C4 Cactus and in fact we are already holding a number of pre-orders for the vehicle well ahead of its local introduction,” revealed Citroen Australia boss John Statari.
