UK broadcaster and radio personality Chris Evans has signed a three year deal to be the new presenter of Top Gear.
Evans will lead an all-new line-up with reports Richard Hammond and James May will head over to Netflix to rejoin Jeremy Clarkson on a yet to be named motoring show.
So far there has been no announcements about who will join Evans as co-hosts, but one source suggested Jodie Kidd could be involved in the show.
'I'm thrilled, Top Gear is my favourite programme of all time,' he said, praising a programme 'created by a host of brilliant minds who love cars and understand how to make the massively complicated come across as fun, devil-may-care and effortless'.
'I promise I will do everything I possibly can to respect what has gone on before and take the show forward.'
Production on the new series of Top Gear will start in the next few weeks, the BBC said.
Meantime, the trio are bringing 'Clarkson, Hammond May Live' the Perth's Arena July 17-18, and to Sydney's Allphones Arena the following weekend July 25-26.
