The next chapter in the French marque’s history is upon us.
Luxury hypercar marque Bugatti has been teasing its new Divo hypercar for some time ahead of its planned debut in Monterey, and now just days before it all kicks off, they’re it again. The Divo will be Bugatti’s second concurrent model in the lineup, which hasn’t happened since the Volkswagen Group took the marque over in 1998.
The Divo’s earlier teasers alluded to its Chiron base, but is expected to carry unique styling and sport a number of enhancements that befits what Bugatti claims will be the most driver-focused model they’ve made to date. Previous teasers have shown us that the Divo will carry uniquely-designed, distinctive OLED taillights, and carbon fibre bits that’ll feature the French tricolore in places.
As part of Bugatti’s announcements surrounding the Divo, they revealed that it’ll be more “agile,” with “nimble handling” set to reward its well-heeled buyers. As it uses the Chiron as a platform, it’s unsure if the 8.0-litre W16 quad-turbo will be coerced to put out more than the 1103kW and 1600Nm that it produces in the Chiron.
Only 40 Divo hypercars will be made, with prices expected to start at €5-million (or about $7.9-million). With the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance set to begin on Thursday, we’re very excited to learn more about Bugatti’s potent new model, so stay tuned to CarShowroom as we bring you more updates as they come.
