The Lexus display at the Australian International Motor Show saw a curiously brief appearance of a sporty Lexus CT 200h concept.
Based on the 2.4-litre Hybrid Lexus CT 200h, developed in Europe by Gazoo Racing, which competed in the Nurburgring 24-Hour endurance race in Germany, the racy, Australian-made version was shown for just two days “to gauge public reaction,” according to Lexus.
And while the Aussie version of the sporty Lexus CT 200h maintained the production 1.8-litre Hybrid powerplant, it looked sporty with sports suspension (20mm lower than standard), polished 18-inch alloy wheels, quad exhaust tailpipes, a unique body kit and even a rear diffuser.
The good looks and hybrid efficiency of the Lexus CT 200h in a more sporty package? As they say in the movies: “We like the way you’re thinking!”
