For this ute version of the Mini, we can thank the talented apprentices at the BMW plants in Munich and Dingolfing.
Based on the all-wheel-drive version of the Mini Cooper S Paceman, the concept vehicle is called the Mini Paceman Adventure and, as pickups go, it looks terrific.
And with the potent turbocharged 135kW engine, you can bet the driving dynamics (with less weight at the rear) would be pretty sharp too.
The modified two-seater has space for lots of kit and a sturdy roof rack can support the weight of a full-size spare wheel.
Some off-road credentials too with a raised ride height and greater clearance front and rear.
No plans for production but with talented youngsters like those responsible for the Mini Pacemen Adventure on the payroll…well it’s no wonder BMW keeps rolling out impressive new models.
