BMW has announced a massive program to supply around 4,000 vehicles as an official partner of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In addition, BMW will be a Sustainability Partner, supporting London's commitment to deliver its 'low carbon' and 'healthy living' Games. This year, for the fifth consecutive year, BMW was named by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index as the world's most sustainable automotive company.

BMW's fleet of cars for London will meet the upcoming Euro 6 emissions standard and beat the target for exhaust emissions of 120g C02/km - a requirement set by LOCOG (London Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games). BMW electric vehicles, MINI, motorcycles and bicycles will be part of the fleet.

In addition, a proportion of the vehicles will be wheelchair-accessible and converted for use by disabled drivers and passengers.

BMW has invested more than $2 billion in the UK since 2000 and employs some 8,000 in the 2012 host nation.
